Way back when I had my weeks R&D for blindful I was fortunate to have Andrew Petticrew of Petticrew Optometrist come along and see what we had been doing in the studio. Andrew is a leading eye-specialist and generously shared his expertise about the eye with myself and the dancers. We had an hour long conversation which began with the dancers actually meeting Andrew for the first time with blindfolds on. It was only halfway through the conversation that they took the blindfolds off and saw Andrew. It was interesting for all involved, as the dancers had the opportunity to meet someone with no prejudgment for appearances and Andrew had the opportunity to see some contemporary dance and exploration work.
